In this episode, South African photographer, Nelisiwe Nkosi talks about how photography helped her work through the trauma of being sexually assaulted on two occasions.
Her photographic series, “Breakeven” expresses the feelings of shame, violation, vulnerability and a yearning to be invisible. “Breakeven” went on to be exhibited at prestigious art centres and events, and even earned her a spot in the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans’ list in 2020.
