African Women in Media is pleased to invite South Africa based events management companies to tender for the event management for the upcoming African Women in Media Summit 2020.

African Women in Media 2020 Summit (AWiM2020) is an annual conference that brings together a wide range of stakeholders in media industries, academia and CSOs. This is our fourth event and it will be hosted in Johannesburg, South Africa attracting approximately 350-450 attendees. Click here to view the Concept Note

All bids must be received by 15 January 2020

Key Dates:
Issue of Request for Quotation – 7th January 2020
Deadline for Expression of Interest and queries – 15th January 2020
Notification of results of evaluation – 17th January 2020
Discussions and negotiations – 20-24th January 2020
Anticipated contract start date – 27th January 2020

Please note: AWiM reserves the right to cancel the quotation process at any point. AWiM is not liable for any costs resulting from any cancellation of this quotation process, or for any other costs incurred by those bidding for this Contract. DR. YEMISI AKINBOBOLA

C.E.O & Co-founder, AWiM

Dr Yemisi Akinbobola is an award-winning journalist, academic, consultant and co-founder of African Women in Media (AWiM). AWiM’s vision is that one-day African women will have equal access to representation in media. Joint winner of the CNN African Journalist Award 2016 (Sports Reporting), Yemisi ran her news website IQ4News between 2010-14.
Yemisi holds a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies from Birmingham City University, where she is a Senior Lecturer. She has published scholarly research on women’s rights, African feminism, and journalism and digital public spheres. She was Editorial Consultant for the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 commemorative book titled “She Stands for Peace: 20 Years, 20 Journeys”, and currently hosts the book’s podcast.
She speaks regularly on issues relating to gender and media. In 2021 she was recognized as one of 100 Most Influential African Women.
